After the information that was released this morning over at Game Informer (and reported here of course!) a cheeky little teaser trailer has been released for The Elder Scrolls Online. With narration duties falling to none other than Michael Gambon (Dumbldore!) we see…well not much, guess that’s why they called it a teaser trailer. It does however set the scene of what will no doubt be a massive game where players will struggle for control of Tamriel and the Imperial Throne.
Hopefully there will be more to see at E3 this year though with this not due for release until next year I doubt there will be much in the way of gameplay footage for a while. I just hope they release the required specs soon so I can start saving my penny’s for a decent gaming PC!
Game Informer had a number of pretty big announcements last night the first being that the much anticipated Elder Scrolls Online is going to be unveiled in their June issue. This MMO incarnation of the Elder Scrolls universe will encompass the entire land of Tamriel with the story taking place a thousand years before the events depicted in Skyrim when Molag Bal the daedric prince of domination and enslavement, tries to pull all of Tamriel into his demonic realm.
The games director Matt Firor at Zenimax Online Studios had this to say over at Game Informer;
“It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years, the entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.”
Other details that were present in the short online article included that the game will have solo questing elements, public dungeons and player factions that will be involved in PvP elements as the factions struggle to take control of Tamriel. The game is scheduled for a 2013 release on both the PC and Mac, to say that I am excited doesn’t really quite cut it here! There was also talk of a teaser trailer being released fairly soon (possibly later today) so stay tuned for more news.
