Weekend Weirdness
After a week of hard-hitting reporting/Google searching, I felt like taking today as an opportunity to bring you some of the weirder stuff that I came across while searching for ‘serious news’ stories this week. I’m gonna start the ball (t)rolling this week by bringing you some movie trailers for films you never heard of and will probably never see. The first of these is a little sci-fi flick by the name of Fugu & Tako which involves sushi and follows the story of …ah you’ll understand better if ya just watch. Or possibly not.
Actually looks kinda fun but definitely weird. Anyway putting bad sushi aside we are heading to the US now for a bit of horror featuring (in name at least) none other than Stephen King. This next trailer seems to answer the question of what happens when you self parody just a little too hard…
Well it looks better than piranha 3 ‘double fu*#@ng D’ at least. Last up we are heading to China for a film featuring a rather angry looking Andy Lau who is the star of the action/spy movie “Switch” which according to the officialtrailers.com:
‘tells an intriguing story involving two men and two women. Special agent Xiao Jinhan (Andy Lau) and insurance company employee Lin Yuyan (Zhang Jingchu) are on a mission to protect the world-famous drawing “Fu Chun Shan Ju Tu”, which is the target of a Japanese gangster (Tong Dawei). Taiwan sweetheart Lin Chi-ling portrays a mysterious women in the film.’
Does anyone know what is happening? Why is there a picture of a foetus on the wall? Who is ‘Tickly McGee’? Whose birthday is it? Is Andy Lau’s character angry or is Lau just angry at himself for agreeing to this? All these questions and more will probably not be answered in a cinema nowhere near you!
I think this weeks winner has got to be Fugu & Tako which looks like it could be a lot of fun, even if I will probably be too distracted by the giant fish-man to read the subtitles.

I don’t know why but switch looked good to me… until the happy birthday with umbrellas or whatever. Ruined it. Damn you crappy pan shot!
I kinda like the look of it too even though it is because it looks so bonkers!
